A Linear Applicative Solution for the Set Union Problem
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper is about an applicative solution to the IMPERATIVE Set Union Problem, as posed by Peyton-Jones [3]. The adjectivisation is used here to emphasise that the problem was thought to pose significant questions in finding an applicative solution of the same order of complexity as the imperative version. We show one such solution, written in the style of KRC [5]. The same reasoning, when applied to the Set Intersection and Difference problems will yield solutions with the same order of complexity of the imperative counterparts. The complexity of the solution, or rather of one of the functions in it, depends on the implementation's capability of destructively overwriting objects if that does not affect the referential transparency property of a purely applicative language. Such a system is described elsewhere [2].

Hölder continuity of solution maps to a parametric weak vector equilibrium problem
In this paper, by using a new concept of strong convexity, we obtain sufficient conditions for Holder continuity of the solution mapping for a parametric weak vector equilibrium problem in the case where the solution mapping is a general set-valued one. Without strong monotonicity assumptions, the Holder continuity for solution maps to parametric weak vector optimization problems is discussed.
متن کاملOn solving possibilistic multi- objective De Novo linear programming
Multi-objective De Novo linear programming (MODNLP) is problem for designing optimal system by reshaping the feasible set (Fiala [3] ). This paper deals with MODNLP having possibilistic objective functions coefficients. The problem is considered by inserting possibilistic data in the objective functions coefficients. The solution of the problem is defined and established under the using of effi...
متن کاملA fuzzy multi-objective model for a project management problem
In this research, the multi-objective project management decision problem with fuzzy goals and fuzzy constraints are considered. We constitute α-cut approach and two various fuzzy goal programming solution methods for solving the Multi-Objective Project Management (MOPM) decision problem under fuzzy environments. The Interactive fuzzy multi-objective linear programming (i-FMOLP) and Weighted Ad...

Set covering problem has many applications such as emergency systems, retailers’ facilities, hospitals, radar devices, and military logistics, and it is considered as Np-Hard problems. The goal of set covering problem is to find a subset such that :::::::::union::::::::: of the subset members covered the whole set. In this paper, we present a new heuristic algorithm to solve the set covering pr...
متن کاملSolving a non-convex non-linear optimization problem constrained by fuzzy relational equations and Sugeno-Weber family of t-norms
Sugeno-Weber family of t-norms and t-conorms is one of the most applied one in various fuzzy modelling problems. This family of t-norms and t-conorms was suggested by Weber for modeling intersection and union of fuzzy sets. Also, the t-conorms were suggested as addition rules by Sugeno for so-called $lambda$–fuzzy measures. In this paper, we study a nonlinear optimization problem where the fea...
